Race 17 – Position 2

Mostert qualified 7th for Saturday’s Race, and a great start to the 31 Lap Race set him up for good finish.

Managing to avoid the dramatic clash after the Safety Car restart Mostert was running in the Top 5 for the final laps.

Diving down the inside of the corner Mostert got the jump on the rest of the field who went wide and drove away into 2nd.

Mostert was happy with the result but still believed there was plenty of room for improvement before Sunday’s final Race.

Race 16 – Position 5

Mostert had a great start to the Race and led into the opening turn, holding his lead for much of the first stint.

Unfortunately Mostert didn’t have the tyre life of the other frontrunners and fell into P5 after his second pit-stop.

Engaging in a tight battle with Coulthard, Van Gisbergen and McLaughlin towards the end after the Safety Car Restart, Mostert finished in P5.

Mostert is now just six points off fourth overall in the Supercars Championship.

“Our car balance wasn’t quite right out of the gate and that last stint when everyone dived in early there is no way we could’ve done that. Adam and I worked hard today but the car balance hurt as we burnt front tyres and the rears a little bit. That just comes down to the stuff we need to keep working on. Overall to finish fifth and second yesterday is a great bunch of points from the weekend. To get a front row start today was great but we need to capitalise on those qualifying efforts. We are in amongst the top guys but just lacking a little bit.”
