Race 20 – Position 10

Mostert had an unbelievable start to the great race, flying into P2 on the start and taking over the lead a lap later.

Leading the Race for the majority, Mostert lost his shot at the Bathurst 1000 Trophy when a Safety Car restart on Lap 145 saw him spin off the track.

Mostert was able to rejoin and salvage a P10 finish for the #55 Supercheap Auto FG X after more than 7 hours of racing and despite the spin and a pair of drive-through penalties.

Mostert was disappointed with the result, but was very happy with the team and cars performance.

“We were fast at points, the boys gave me a really good car for the wet conditions. The dry wasn’t quite as good to us but we didn’t get much of a chance on dry tyres to really see what we had. It was a very intense race and after all that to be in the top ten is kind of surprising. We somehow closed the Championship deficit, which obviously is important; we’re closer into the picture now so we’ll see if we can make more ground at Gold Coast.”
